Tips for linking to remote .flv files:

To use the embed code from a site currently hosting a clip, see the top of this page. You will need a URL to the video thumbnail.

Please do not just paste the address from your browser location bar into this box. It is most likely to be the wrong path to the file you are viewing in the page.

There are many tools that will help you pin down the right URL (address) of a remote video file. Websites like keepvid.com can help.

At keepvid.com, add the url of your page and the site name from the pull-down menu. Once the information is processed, often the address on the download link provided (right click and choose copy link location) is the correct link to use. You may just need to add the file extension ".flv" to the end of the address.

All remote links should begin with http:// and end in .flv as the file format.

For example: http://www.musictoyznetwork.com/uploads/bjfEmerald.flv

Anything starting with 'embed' for example, won't work. Also addresses of YouTube pages will fail unless you use something like keepvid to find the link to the actual video file.

***Please note that the script is currently unable to generate thumbnails from remote files, especially from YouTube. Please make the thumbnail manually or leave the field at zero seconds.
