Uploading/Linking Help!

Uploading and linking to external video files does seem to prove troublesome at times and the results can be frustrating when it doesn't work out. Below are some pointers and things to check if you have a less than successful time posting.

1. When uploading videos from your computer to the musictoyznetwork.com server, please be patient. Uploads of large files can be slow.

2. All file formats EXCEPT .FLV files will require encoding to .flv file format. This also takes time.

3. Successfully linking to remote .flv files can at times be as difficult as balancing an Elephant on your left earlobe. Usually the reason that the movie doesn't display is because the link address is just plain wrong. There are many tools that will help you pin down the right URL. keepvid.com can help. Often the address on the download link (right click and choose copy link location) is the correct link to use.

All remote links should begin with http:// and end in .flv as the file format.

For example:
http://www.musictoyznetwork.com/uploads/bjfEmerald.flv

REMOTE FILE LINKS (YouTube) - please read
Using keepvid.com allows you to extract the correct path to the movie, simply copy the link provided once the video address has been processed and add ‘ .flv ’ without the quotes, to the end of the resulting address. The script doesn’t currently support automatic thumbnail generation for remote files on YouTube, so supply one at the time of upload if you can or leave thumbnail options at their defaults.

Anything starting with 'embed' for example, won't work.
